Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992
Alpha Personnel Recruitment Limited would like to ensure that any employee of this company is protected in the workplace in compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992. The principal object of this Act is “to provide for the prevention of harm to employees at work”. The effects of the Act are far reaching; not only does it hold employers responsible for health and safety in the workplace, but also held responsible are employees.
Health and Safety is therefore a shared responsibility by all employers and employees to ensure harm does not befall anyone. Temps must follow instructions from Alpha Personnel’s management and its clients regarding hazards. Temps must take responsibility for their own health and safety, ensure they do not endanger other people and where appropriate, wear safety and personal protective clothing and equipment.
Accidents
All accidents, incidents or near misses with potential for serious harm must be reported immediately (within 24 hours) to Alpha Personnel’s Health and Safety Officer (Linzi Davies – Ph 09 524 2336). If the accident requires treatment, temps must forward a copy of the Accident Compensation Claim Form to Alpha Personnel Recruitment Ltd. If the incident requires time off work, temps must forward a copy of the doctor’s certificate to Alpha Personnel Recruitment Ltd.
