The company and opportunity:

This is a rare permanent opportunity for a driven Commodity Trader to work with our client who is a market leader in the importation and distribution in Australia and New Zealand

They are looking for someone with great energy, is personable, has precision with numbers, and the attention to detail to understand margins. 

The role, in a nutshell:

• Trading between global suppliers and major food and beverage manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand
• Market research, other work within the group as directed by management
• Liaising with procurement managers and global suppliers to ensure continuous supply
• Weekly reporting, domestic and international travel is required, new business development

To be successful in the role:

• 5 years + experience in international trade, export/import sales, commodity trading or B2B sales
• Networks within the agri-food industry would be advantageous
• Ability to communicate effectively in English – both verbal and written 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, costing and budgeting
• Strong time-management skills, high degree of flexibility, and excellent multitasking ability.
• Can work methodically under pressure and with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Willingness and ability to travel to serve international clients and suppliers
