Our client is a forward thinking Government Agency with a considerable property portfolio nationally. They are looking for an experienced, highly effective Property Acquisition Specialist to lead the strategy and management of a major Lower North Island land acquisition programme. This is a 12 month hourly rate contact role.
Based in Wellington your duties will include:
- Providing strategic input in the early phase of projects
- Being a trusted advisor on all aspects of the programme including risk
- Overseeing 3rd party providers
- Negotiating with property owners/occupiers & affected parties as & when required.
- Monitoring and providing regular reporting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A sound understanding of the issues involved in the purchase of property for Crown use, including an in-depth understanding of the Public Works Act 1981 and related Crown policy.
- Very strong programme management skills, including a good understanding and familiarity with planning tools such as MS Project.
- Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Business Studies (VPM), Bachelor of Property)
- Demonstrated experience in valuation, consultancy or property management (5+ years)
- You will also need a sound knowledge of the issues involved in property acquisition and disposal
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
