The Role

An opening has come up for an experienced administrator with medical background to assist in this busy Clinical Support Coordination role based in Penrose.  In this assignment you will be liaising extensively with internal staff including procurement, supply chain and logistics as well as external stakeholders including clinicians, Northern Region DHB staff (nurses, service managers), suppliers and distributors and Health Ministry.


  • Developing strong working relationships with all internal and external contacts
  • Providing quality assurance for the use in tenders
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the implementation of new products
  • Research requests for new products including why new product is required, anticipated volume usage and cost analysis
  • Source safe and cost effective products
  • Escalate and take action on any alerts, recalls or stock shortages
  • Other administrative duties as required

 Skills Required

  • Previous healthcare experience as a nurse or laboratory technician or in other clinical roles
  • Have some experience working within a hospital environment
  • A recognized Healthcare and business or Supply Chain qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook (including knowledge of pivot tables and formulas)
  • Knowledge of Oracle would be an advantage
  • Strong analytical research skills and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle tight deadlines
