An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll officer to work for a busy and complex payroll team within a shared services organisation.  You will get to be part of one of the biggest payroll teams in the country. 

This is a 6 month fixed term opportunity starting ASAP through till the end of June and located  in Penrose.

Duties will include:

  • Loading all HR and pay information into the system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Processing all payroll data correctly
  • Filing of all relevant documentation at the completion of each pay period
  • Escalating any issues to the team leader
  • Responding to payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Other relevant admin tasks as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Relevant tertiary studies or qualifications
  • Experience working with a large payroll (paying 500 - 1000+ staff) – weekly and fortnightly - 2+ years experience preferred, but those who have worked on smaller payrolls but are happy working within a busy fast paced environment would also be considered.
  • Experience working within a unionised organisation and  with contracting payroll an advantage
  • Intermediate/advanced experience with MS Office, especially excel
  • Strong team player
  • Experience using AMS-Leader software or similar payroll package
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Deadline driven with a high attention to detail
