Our client is New Zealand’s largest supplier of new and recycled renovation material. They are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to join the company management team in all aspects of the company operation.
This role is specifically responsible for the management of the yard and workshop staff - You will:
- Oversee stock preparation and maintenance of all plant and equipment
- Liaise with contacts to buy re cycled goods
- Organise the collection of goods
- Coordinate the display of stock and storage areas
Ideally you will have a forklift license and heavy traffic license level 2 – this can be obtained for the right person with relevant skills.
You will be responsible for running toolbox meetings on the yard and site reviews on demolition sites, therefore being versatile and adaptable with experience in the building construction industry would be an advantage. Knowledge of aluminum joinery (doors, windows) would certainly be useful also.
You will need to be a confident negotiator, organized and a practical thinker. Attributes such as having great problem-solving skills, being proactive and motivated, along with being well organized and having the ability to plan ahead will be essential for this busy role. Good computer skills are also key.
