We are partnering with a well-established specialist palliative care service in the Wellington region that provides holistic, patient and whānau-focused support across home and inpatient settings.
This is a meaningful opportunity to join a well-integrated multidisciplinary team, supporting people living with life-limiting illness to maintain independence, dignity, and engagement in everyday occupations across the full continuum of “living with dying”.
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will support people living with life-limiting illness to maintain independence, dignity, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
You will provide assessment, intervention, education, and support across both inpatient and community settings, working closely within a multidisciplinary team.
Key areas include:
- ADL support, equipment provision, and environmental adaptation
- Energy conservation, breathlessness and symptom management strategies
- Meaningful activity and legacy work
- Education for patients, whānau, and community supports
- Contribution to MDT care planning and service delivery
What We’re Looking For:
- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current APC
- Minimum 2 years’ experience (palliative care experience desirable)
- Strong clinical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently within a MDT
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
- Current NZ driver’s licence
