A well-established aged care facility in Mount Eden is seeking a compassionate and energetic Diversional Therapist to support the wellbeing and engagement of residents.

This is a part-time position, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance residents’ physical, emotional, social, and cultural wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive environment within a 65-bed aged care setting.

• Plan and deliver engaging group and individual activity programs
• Support residents’ participation in meaningful daily activities
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Organise and facilitate outings and community-based activities
• Drive an automatic van to safely transport residents
• Work collaboratively with the care and clinical team
• Maintain accurate documentation of activities and participation

• Full NZ Driver’s Licence (automatic vehicle experience required)
• Confidence driving an automatic van with residents
• Experience in aged care, disability, or activities coordination (preferred)
• Warm, patient, and resident-focused approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt activities to varying levels of ability
• Mandarin-speaking ability is advantagous 
• Valid NZ working rights
