Data Tester – Enterprise Reporting & Analytics
We are seeking an experienced Data Tester to join a large-scale enterprise data and reporting environment supporting business-critical services within the public sector.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in data testing, reporting platform releases, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD delivery pipelines. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise reporting solutions across a modern cloud-based data environment.
Based in Wellington, this position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative agile team delivering impactful data and analytics capabilities.
About the Role
As the Data Tester, you will lead end-to-end testing activities across enterprise reporting and data platform releases. You will work closely with product teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery standards and robust testing practices are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing reporting platform and data releases
- Developing and maintaining automated reconciliation testing frameworks
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and release management processes
- Monitoring data quality and cloud platform cost consumption
- Building audit trails, dashboards, and reporting visibility for migration and release activities
- Supporting agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating across technical and business teams to deliver reliable reporting solutions
About You
You will bring a strong blend of technical testing expertise, automation capability, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
We are looking for someone with:
- 5+ years’ experience in testing within enterprise data or reporting environments
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience developing automated testing solutions and reconciliation frameworks
- Strong understanding of SDLC, release management, and testing best practices
- Experience monitoring and improving enterprise data quality
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI lifecycle management
- Agile delivery experience within cross-functional software or reporting teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a highly engaged team environment
The following experience would be highly advantageous:
- Python and/or PySpark experience
- Power BI or Fabric report development
- ISTQB certification
- Experience within large enterprise or public sector environments
Requirements
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance
