Love optics, great people and a workplace where you can genuinely enjoy coming to work?

Rose Optometry is looking for an experienced Optical Consultant to join their friendly, progressive Hamilton team.

This is an opportunity to be part of a practice that takes exceptional eye care seriously, without losing sight of the importance of having a supportive, connected and enjoyable workplace. People pitch in, treat each other with respect and are encouraged to bring ideas, keep learning and embrace new ways of doing things.

The opportunity

You’ll be an important part of the patient journey, working closely with optometrists and the wider team to make sure every person who walks through the door feels welcomed, listened to and confident in their eyewear choices.

Your day will be varied, including:

  • Providing knowledgeable, personalised optical dispensing
  • Helping patients select frames and lenses that are right for them
  • Taking accurate measurements, ordering spectacles and completing adjustments and repairs
  • Creating a warm, relaxed and professional patient experience
  • Managing frame, lens and contact lens stock
  • Supporting invoicing, including ACC, ENABLE and insurance requirements
  • Working alongside optometrists and the wider team to keep everything running smoothly
  • Getting involved with digital services, online products and the Rose Optometry webshop
  • Learning and using new technology, systems and ways of working

Why Rose Optometry?

Rose Optometry's culture is built around respect, friendliness, initiative, integrity and connection.

They want people to feel comfortable being themselves, enjoy working together and know that their contribution matters. It’s a workplace where helping a teammate is simply part of the job.

The practice is forward-thinking and embraces new technology and innovation, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to keep developing rather than standing still. If you’re looking for more than simply your next optical role, this could be a great move.

About you

You’ll ideally have optical experience and be confident working across a range of optical solutions.

You’re warm, approachable and empathetic, while also being organised, accurate and comfortable taking ownership of your work.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Builds genuine rapport with patients and teammates
  • Has strong optical dispensing and customer service experience
  • Takes pride in getting the details right
  • Is proactive, reliable and happy to pitch in
  • Enjoys learning and developing professionally
  • Is comfortable with technology and picking up new systems
  • Responds positively to change and new ideas
  • Brings a calm, friendly approach – even when things get busy

Great patients. Great people. A progressive practice and a workplace where you can feel genuinely part of the team.

If this sounds like the environment you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
