The client
Our client is a well-known finance company providing investment opportunities outside the banks. They're NZ owned and operated and have experienced significant growth, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon!
Based in Auckland's CBD, the successful person will have previous experience and knowledge in Senior Credit Control and Recovery sectors and have ideally worked at a bank. This role will undertake loan administration, loan system processing, credit control, and recovery for the company’s loans, act as backup for the Lending & Credit Manager, assist with risk management, compliance, and business administration as necessary.
This role will see you working Monday to Friday 40 hours a week.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Run daily arrears report/monitor dishonored payments
- Contact overdue borrowers and arrange payment of arrears including default interest and any related fees
- Prepare monthly loan arrears board report
- Check new loan documentation and loan loading in the Finesse loan system
- Process discharges/loan repayments
- Ensure AML/CFT requirements are met for borrowers
- Ensure original documents and post-registration title search is received from the borrower's lawyer
- Issue Discharge Statements ensuring all early repayment fees and default interest are charged
- Obtain updated certificates of currency from clients' insurers as necessary to ensure that security properties are insured at all times
- Destroy closed loan files after 7 years
- Load new broker contacts, allocate to Lending Managers, and update broker data as required
- Act as backup for the Lending & Credit Manager including assessment and approval of loan applications
Requirements for the role
- You will have to be thick-skinned and not take things too personally as you will be dealing with all types of people
- Previous experience in a similar role or worked in a bank
- Good Legal knowledge
- Have critical thinking and can make sound decisions
