The company and opportunity: 

This is a permanent opportunity based in Newmarket for a switched on Accounts Officer. We are a successful Recrutiment company that has been around for over 30 years. Training will be provided and we are looking for someone that can start ASAP. 

This role is full-time, Monday to Friday. This person will be an integral part of the team within the organisation. You will need to have excellent attention to detail when dealing with financial data and the ability to meet targets and deadlines.

Some of your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Answering inquiries related to general accounting such as Accounts Payable/Receivable
  • Updating CRM system by entering and adjusting timesheets, annual leave, sick leave, bereavement leave, on–call, overtime, stats and transferring them into the payroll system according to the current employment legislation
  • Ensure deductions are correct and delivered on time
  • Onboarding new hires and resignations in the payroll system
  • Emailing payslips each week and answering payroll queries
  • Liase with relevant Coordinators to ensure that all invoicing information is correct in system and invoices are sent on time
  • Sending client monthly statements and credit control 
  • Assisting the Company Accountant or other team members with any other duties that may arise

 To be successful in this role:

  • Qualificafications would be a plus, but not essential
  • Good computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems and procedures
  • Advanced numeracy,  analytical capability and advanced in Excel 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Being able to multi-task/multi-track constantly with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be intuitive and be able to prioritise queries based on the likely impact of the issue on the client/candidate
  • Ideally have used MYOB and Xero 
  • As this is a permanent role, those only with NZ Citizenship or permanent residency will be considered for this role
