Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Lead (Manual Testing)

Location: Auckland City

Job Type: 6 Month Independent Contract initially

Job Description: We are looking for a QA Lead who will be responsible for leading the quality assurance team, overseeing manual testing processes, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the QA team, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough manual testing of web and mobile applications to identify defects and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to understand requirements and provide timely feedback.
  • Monitor and report on test execution and defect status, ensuring transparency and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified issues and work with development teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to QA best practices and processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in release planning and provide accurate estimations for testing efforts.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in manual testing and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manual testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of software development and QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in creating detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
