Cyber Security Architect/ Assurance - 6 Month Contract Role

Background:
A critical need has arisen for a Cyber Security Architect to fill an important role within the team. The position requires a skilled professional to provide cyber security assurance consultancy throughout the lifecycle of systems, from inception to ongoing assurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Security Risk Assessments in collaboration with business stakeholders.

• Define Non-Functional Requirements and design controls through workshops and design reviews.

• Plan and execute Control Validation audits to ensure compliance.

• Prepare detailed Certification and Accreditation memos for senior stakeholders, outlining risks and required remediation actions.

Key Skills and Expertise Required:

• Proven experience in providing cyber security assurance consultancy from system inception to operational phases.

• Ability to assess and validate complex system designs and security controls.

• Proficiency in developing and executing Security Risk Assessments and Control Validation plans.

• Strong capability in preparing concise Certification and Accreditation memos.

• Deep knowledge of ICT security technologies and solutions.

• Experience with Microsoft platforms (Azure, Power Platform) and/or data warehouse environments is advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across various levels of a government organization.

• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to navigate and simplify complex technical and business environments.

Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: Immediate
