We have an immediate need for Fitter Welders. This role suits a professional tradesperson who has been working in the industry for a minimum of 4 years and has experience in providing quality Fitting, assemble and welding of metal parts and subassemblies. A trade qualification is not required but would be favourable.

 

Ideally a good candidate would:

·       Have Engineering Trade Experience Preferably as Fitter Welder, Boilermaker or equivalent

·       Min 4yrs welding experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

·       Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (safety glasses, gloves etc.

·       Quality and productivity focused

·       Proficient in English

·       Physically fit

·       Preferably hold a NZ Drivers licence or International Drivers licence with reliable transport.

 

Tasks would include but no limited to:

·       Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings

·       Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.

·       Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.

·       Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machines

·       Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal

·       Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines

·       Preparing pattern mechanisms to control the operation of textile machines used to spin, weave, knit, sew and tuft fabric

·       Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment

·       May erect machines and equipment on-site.

·       Safe operation of equipment.

·       Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

·       You will be offered permanent full-time employment with a minimum of 30 hours per week paid

·       You will be offered a wage rate of $29.66 per hour depending on your level of experience

·       You will be offered work in one of the following locations in New Zealand:  Taranaki

·       You will be offered training as appropriate to assist you to improve your skills

·       You will be required to follow all advised health and safety regulations.

 

Potential relocation to other regions and/or work across multiple regions may be required and applicants for this position should have NZ residence/citizenship or a valid open NZ work visa.
