Laboratory Assistant or Technician

Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm, with one short weekend shift every 4 weeks

$25 to $30 p/hour

Immediate Start; minimum 1-month term

 

About the Role:

• Process water samples for microbiological 
• Assist in the processing of water samples for chemical analysis
• Maintenance of laboratory records including the sample register, sample cards, workbooks and files; and the checking of results and data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Ensure that all work is documented, carried out on time and to the required IANZ standard
• Carry out other duties as required (may include cleaning, preparing, maintaining, and calibrating equipment)

 

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in science or relevant discipline
• Previous hands-on laboratory experience preferred
• Experience with water testing and/or KTP advantageous
• Proven understanding of basic principles and practices of qualitative and quantitative chemistry, mathematics, biology, and microbiology
• Analytically minded, with a great attitude and willingness to jump in and help where needed
• Good attention to detail and excellent computer skills
