Our client, a global specialist in food and beverage packaging, is seeking an experienced Accountant for temporary maternal cover. This immediate-start role requires someone proficient and ready to hit the ground running.

As a key member of the Finance team, the Accountant will support business operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including general ledgers, accounts receivables, and payables for all New Zealand entities. The role involves assisting the Finance Manager with governance, providing high-quality service to internal and external customers, and delivering timely reports. Additionally, the position includes identifying and executing special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Maintain general ledger and manage balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and Group reporting standards
  • Prepare month-end and year-end financial reports
  • Complete accurate and timely ERP uploads and reconciliations
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Prepare and file statutory reports
  • Oversee and assist with cash flow and working capital reporting
  • Support special projects and workflow process improvements
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset Register, including processing depreciation
  • Assist with compliance for annual statutory audit
