We are looking for an experienced Senior Policy Analyst (contractor) for 4 months (end of November 2024 to end of March 2025) to support policy advice on the vocational education and training system. This policy role offers exciting challenges across the Skills Quality and Governance Policy team areas of expertise and sits across social and economic policy. The role will work closely with several government agencies.

The right candidate will be an experienced policy analysts at senior level, with excellent writing skills, and that also:

• thrives in a fast-paced policy environment
• has strong regulatory and legislative experience
• has proven ability to collaborate with others to find solutions
• is a critical thinker and can bring innovative approaches to complex policy issues
• is experienced with developing evidence-based analysis and advice
• has a history of providing timely high quality advice, including Cabinet papers, to senior leadership teams and Ministers
• has the ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
