A global fintech organisation is looking for a senior-level Application Support Engineer to manage and troubleshoot its global technology platform, supporting a major international client.
We’re looking for a technically strong, professional operator - someone who can diagnose issues deeply, communicate with confidence, and operate effectively within a structured corporate client environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing Level 2/3 technical application support
- Performing detailed log file analysis and root cause troubleshooting
- Diagnosing production issues across application, OS and network layers
- Supporting Linux / Unix environments
- Investigating connectivity issues (TCP/IP, network up/down scenarios)
- Writing and modifying shell scripts (light Java knowledge ideal)
- Working within an ITIL service management structure
- Acting as a senior escalation point for a key global client
- Collaborating with engineering teams across Auckland, London, Toronto & Prague
This role requires someone methodical, logical, and technically mature — not someone who simply escalates tickets.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Linux / Unix environments
- Log analysis & structured troubleshooting
- Shell scripting (Bash)
- SQL databases
- TCP/IP & network fundamentals
- ITIL-aligned support frameworks
Highly Regarded:
- Git or Ansible exposure
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in corporate environments
- Ability to engage professionally with senior client stakeholders
- Logical, analytical problem-solving approach
- Capital markets experience is not essential — strong technical application support is.
