Reporting to the Finance Manager and partnering the business units, the Assistant Accountant will assist in meeting core finance deliverables across the group.

Key Areas of responsibility will include:

• Subcontractor and debtor administration.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and PPSR.
• Assisting with the preparation of month-end close, accruals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets.
• Drafting GST, RWT and FBT returns.

We are looking for a confident and strong communicator with the ability to relate to people at all levels. You will be ambitious, and results orientated, while maintaining a flexible mindset that can adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

What you will bring to the role:

• A Finance/Accounting qualification (or currently working towards this)
• Ambition to work towards a CA qualification
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Systems savvy – competent user of MS Excel

In addition, you will be organised, self-motivated and process driven.  1+ years experience working in either a CA firm or commercial accounting role would be preferred, however is not essential.
