We have a client offering in home support for people with intellectual disabilities and are seeking caring, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to join our casual pool across West Auckland. About the role

You will be supporting clients with their daily living needs and helping them participate in activities within their community.

Duties may include:

• Assisting clients with daily living activities and personal care.

• Supporting with showering, dressing and other personal care needs where required.

• Providing companionship and helping clients with communication.

• Supporting clients who have epilepsy and autism.

• Encouraging independence and participation in community activities.

As some clients may have communication difficulties, excellent English language and communication skills are essential. We are looking for people who are patient, empathetic, reliable and genuinely passionate about supporting people with disabilities. Sleepover shifts involve staying overnight at the client's home. You will have your own bedroom and be able to sleep during the overnight period.

Who we are looking for:

• Previous experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.

• Experience supporting clients with epilepsy and/or autism (desirable).

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• A caring, patient and understanding approach.

• The ability to work independently and provide quality support.

• A full New Zealand driver's licence is essential.
