Our client is a respected Kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. They're growing fast and are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join their Mobile Clinic Team, bringing quality healthcare directly into communities across South Auckland.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in the community, building genuine connections with whānau, and providing practical, accessible healthcare to people who may experience barriers to traditional healthcare services.
About the Position
As part of the mobile clinical team, you will work alongside GPs, Health Care Assistants, Administrators, and other healthcare professionals to deliver a range of nursing services in community settings.
You will be responsible for providing safe and effective clinical care while supporting whānau to better understand and manage their health. The role will involve working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and may include supporting patients with more complex or ongoing health needs.
You will be based within the mobile service and travel to different community locations across South Auckland.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with rostered hours between 8.00am and 6.00pm.
Key Areas of Responsibility
In this role, you will:
- Complete nursing assessments, clinical observations, triage, and appropriate follow-up.
- Identify health concerns and respond appropriately, including escalating care where required.
- Provide vaccinations, swabbing, wound care, treatments, and other nursing interventions within your scope of practice.
- Support patients with acute, chronic, and complex health needs.
- Provide practical health education and encourage whānau to take an active role in managing their wellbeing.
- Promote preventative healthcare, screening, immunisation, and early intervention.
- Develop respectful and trusting relationships with patients and whānau.
- Deliver care that is culturally safe, inclusive, compassionate, and responsive to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider healthcare team to ensure appropriate coordination and continuity of care.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation and complete timely data entry using Medtech.
- Ensure mobile clinical equipment, supplies, and treatment areas are clean, safe, well-stocked, and ready for use.
What You'll Bring
We are seeking a nurse who is confident working independently, adaptable to different environments, and passionate about improving access to healthcare for whānau.
You will have:
- Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Practising Certificate.
- Current professional indemnity insurance.
- Demonstrated clinical assessment and nursing skills.
- Authorised vaccinator with current certificate.
- Previous experience in primary care, community nursing, or a similar healthcare environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to engage effectively with patients experiencing vulnerability or complex health and social circumstances.
- A strong understanding of, or willingness to develop your knowledge of, culturally responsive and whānau-centred healthcare.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being confident working independently.
- A current New Zealand Full Driver Licence.
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
This role offers the opportunity to do more than provide clinical care — you will help bring healthcare directly to communities and contribute to improving access and outcomes for whānau.
If you are passionate about community nursing, enjoy variety in your working day, and want to be part of an organisation driven by kaupapa Māori values, we would love to hear from you.
