About the Role
With demand continuing to grow across New Zealand's manufacturing industry, this position offers the chance to play a key role in developing customer relationships and delivering advanced production solutions.
Working with manufacturers of all sizes, you'll consult to understand their operational challenges and recommend CNC machining and automation systems that improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
This is a consultative, solution-based sales position that combines strong technical knowledge with commercial acumen. You'll manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to project completion while developing long-term partnerships with customers across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within New Zealand's manufacturing sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Promote premium CNC machine tools, including machining centres, turning centres, multi-tasking and 5-axis technologies.
- Introduce customers to advanced robotic machine tending and automation solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations and presentations tailored to customer requirements.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations and solution discussions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation and successful project delivery.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer activity using CRM software.
- Collaborate with engineering, service and applications teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Travel throughout New Zealand as required to support customers and develop new opportunities.
About You
You enjoy working with manufacturers, understand machining technology, and can confidently translate technical capability into commercial value.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous sales experience within CNC machinery, machine tools, or industrial automation
- Strong understanding of CNC machining
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
- Confidence engaging with everyone from workshop personnel to senior decision-makers.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and territory management skills.
- Current New Zealand driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally.
