Field Services Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems

Location: Ruakākā, Northland
Duration: 12-month plus contract
Start: As soon as possible

We’re looking for a hands-on Field Services Engineer to support the installation, commissioning and ongoing operation of lithium-ion battery energy storage systems. You’ll work with engineering teams, customers and service partners to keep systems operating safely and reliably.

What you’ll do

• Support the installation and commissioning of containerised battery energy storage systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, control and system issues on site.
• Provide maintenance support, remote monitoring and diagnostics for existing systems.
• Verify system performance, replace components and coordinate repairs.
• Train local service partners in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Share field findings with engineering teams and contribute to technical guidance and training materials.
• Ensure work follows site and equipment safety requirements.

What you’ll bring

• An engineering or technical background in electrical engineering, energy systems, electronics or automation.
• Practical field service and electrical fault-finding experience.
• Experience with batteries or energy storage systems. Knowledge of power conversion systems, medium-voltage equipment or plant controls would be valuable.
• Confidence working independently on an industrial site and communicating with customers and subcontractors.
• Willingness to travel when required.
