About the role:

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Business Advisor to support the delivery of a priority government initiative over the next 6-months with the option to potentially extend for another 6-months. As a key member of a dynamic team, you’ll provide business planning, financial analysis, service design and advisory expertise to support the programme’s design and delivery. You'll contribute to key deliverables including a business case, implementation plans, and change support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business process, financial analysis, and service design advice to support programme planning and delivery
  • Develop implementation documents including papers, reports, briefings and proposals and contribute to developing business case processes, budget bid proposals, and financial modelling
  • Provide service design and change management advice
  • Monitor and report on programme progress, risks, and resource needs
  • Support project planning and ensure alignment with government priorities
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Share knowledge and coach other team members to lift team capability
  • Contribute to high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement

Experience required:

  • Experience in a similar senior business advisory role ideally within the public sector
  • Proven experience in:
    • Financial analysis, cost modelling, and development of business case documents (preferably in the public sector)
    • Experience supporting and assisting the delivery of business case process (not required to lead)
    • Researching and analysing complex issues to develop practical solutions
    • Working with senior leaders and stakeholders in large or complex organisations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret financial, numerical, and business performance data
  • Good understanding of government processes including planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Experience in stakeholder relationship management
