The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly skilled Principal Adviser with a proven track record in the board appointments and public sector governance space. This is a short term 10-week contract with an immediate start with the opportunity to lead a complex portfolio comprising several upcoming Crown board appointment processes.

What you'll be doing:

·         Lead a number of board and committee appointment processes

·         Advise Ministers on appointment strategies and processes

·         Support interview panels and draft Cabinet appointment papers

·         Build trusted relationships with board Chairs, entity leaders, and stakeholders

What you’ll bring:

·         Strong experience managing public sector board appointments

·         Deep understanding of governance and board capability frameworks

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience preparing quality appointments papers for cabinet

·         Excellent relationship building skills

·         Familiarity with New Zealand’s governance talent landscape
