The Role
Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Infrastructure Specialist to drive the delivery of construction and infrastructure activities as part of a complex International Development programme.
You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of project delivery from design through to implementation and evaluation—ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects
- Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and reporting
- Oversee procurement, contracts, and supplier performance
- Track budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Ensure quality, compliance, and strong project governance
- Build relationships with stakeholders across NZ and the Pacific
About You
The Infrastructure Specialist Project Manager will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:
Required Experience:
· 5+ years of Project Management experience in infrastructure project management or related field.
· Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects in difficult environments including the management of more than one project simultaneously.
· Budget and financial management experience
· Contract and supplier management
It would be advantageous to have:
· Engineering qualification or equivalent
· Experience in the tendering, procurement and contracting of work, and on contractual management of suppliers
· Experience with NZS3910/3916 contract suite.
· Experience working in an international context, and an understanding of development issues (preferred)
· Experience working in infrastructure sector
Requirements
- Candidates must be NZ citizens or permanent residents
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NZ Government security clearance
