The Role

Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Infrastructure Specialist to drive the delivery of a construction and infrastructure project as part of a complex International Development programme.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of project delivery from project initiation, design through to implementation and evaluation—ensuring the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead end-to-end delivery of the project
• Oversee and manage procurement, contracts, and suppliers
• Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and reporting
• Track budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
• Ensure quality, compliance, and strong project governance
• Build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally across NZ and the Pacific

About You

The Infrastructure Specialist Project Manager will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:

Required Experience:

·       5+ years of Project Management experience in infrastructure and construction project management or related field.

·       Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects in difficult environments including the management of more than one project simultaneously.

·       Contract, procurement and supplier management

·       Budget and financial management experience

It would be advantageous to have:

·       Any exposure to the pacific or international development space

·       Engineering qualification or equivalent

·       Experience in the tendering, procurement and contracting of work, and on contractual management of suppliers

·       Experience with NZS3910/3916 contract suite or similar

·       Experience working in an international context, and an understanding of development issues (preferred)

·       Experience working in infrastructure sector or on construction projects

Requirements

• NZ citizenship or permanent residence required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NZ Government security clearance
