Job Title: Digger Operator (Class 2, R/T/W)

Location:  Porirua, Wellington

Employment Type: Full-time / Temp to Perm

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Digger Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery including excavators, trucks, and other plant equipment to carry out earthworks, trenching, and site preparation safely and efficiently.

This role requires a Class 2 driver licence and R (Roller), T (Tracks), and W (Wheels) endorsements with proven experience in operating diggers/excavators on civil construction or earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators, diggers, and other heavy machinery for earthmoving, drainage, and construction projects.

• Load, transport, and unload materials using Class 2 trucks as required.

• Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery.

• Follow site safety procedures, traffic management plans, and company policies.

• Assist with manual labour and site tasks when required.

• Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed and equipment used.

• Report equipment faults or safety hazards promptly.

• Work collaboratively with site teams, contractors, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
