We are looking for a Support Worker to join a friendly Residential Village setting in Auckland, supporting people with intellectual disabilities as they develop their skills and confidence in a working environment.

One of the highlights of the role is supporting a small group of residents who work in a community coffee cart.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and would love to combine support work with a little hospitality.

About the Role

The coffee cart currently operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, however there is flexibility around days and hours for the right person. Additional hours may be available supporting residents within the vocational centre on other days.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents to participate confidently in vocational and community-based activities
• Provide practical assistance and encouragement while residents work in the coffee cart
• Support residents to develop independence, confidence and workplace skills
• Assist with preparing and serving coffee, smoothies, toasties and other products
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, including cleaning the coffee machine at the end of the day
• Build positive, respectful relationships with the people you support
• Encourage participation while allowing residents to take the lead wherever possible
• Support other vocational activities when required

About You

We are looking for someone who is warm, patient, practical and comfortable supporting people with disabilities.

You must have experience in hospitality or a cafe worker and have a minimum of level 3 in Health and Wellbeing certificate.
