Our client, a government department, is looking for a Research and Policy Advisor for a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a fast-paced role working on a meaningful and interesting project, where you will be able to gain excellent experience working with a very supportive team. We are looking for someone with previous relevant experience to:
· Deliver timely and high-quality work that is informed by a sound understanding of evidence base, analysis, effective quality assurance and a wide cross-sectoral focus.
· Support work planning and parts of a project, with a particular focus on 2 workstreams, this includes key milestones, timelines, consultation processes, risk analysis and resourcing requirements.
· Work collaboratively to ensure planned work is progressed is a way that delivers the outcomes needed, meets agreed timeframes and that have been informed by policy, analytics, strategic planning, capability building and engagement advice.
· Work independently to produce high quality work, which supports decision making by Senior Leaders, Ministers and responds to accountabilities to Parliament and the public.
· Analyse community insights (qualitative and quantitative data) and develop options, initiatives and products that appropriately respond to it.
· Scan the national and international environment to identify what can inform the team’s function.
· Maintain an awareness of issues that may impact on work programme and the work of the organisation.
· Lead or support others to develop work and processes governing information management.
· Work closely with the others to ensure joint up advice to Director and other stakeholders.
· Take responsibility for accessibility, retrievability and security of datasets and assess the integrity of data. Ensured information handling procedures are in place.
· Work collegially and collaboratively with the team.
· Coach and support less experienced staff to ensure they are provided with direction and support where required.
· Data analysis using software Nvivo or the ability to upskill quickly.
