We’re looking for a Registered Staff Midwife who is committed to delivering woman-centred care and making a genuine impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.

About the Role

As a Staff Midwife, you'll be recognised as an autonomous practitioner and key contributor to our midwifery service. Your role includes:

• Providing high-quality, holistic maternity care to women and their families throughout the inpatient journey
• Working in partnership with women, whānau, LMCs and the broader healthcare team
• Supporting primary, secondary and tertiary maternity services 
• Assisting with emergency care and facilitating transfers where required
• Educating and empowering women from pregnancy through to the postnatal period
• Ensuring documentation and care planning are accurate and up to date

What You’ll Bring

• New Zealand Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Midwifery Degree (or equivalent)
• Recent midwifery practice or successful completion of a Return to Practice Programme (excluding new graduates)
• A strong understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its relevance to maternity care
• Knowledge of the NZ maternity care system and a commitment to delivering culturally responsive care
• Confidence in managing a busy clinical workload with competing priorities
