Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for improving health outcomes? This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-impact musculoskeletal health initiative that’s making a real difference across Aotearoa.

We’re looking for a skilled and adaptable Project Manager to support the implementation and ongoing development of a nationally significant healthcare programme. This is a fast-paced, high-priority project with strong expectations around delivery, collaboration, and measurable outcomes—and it could open the door to a longer-term opportunity.

Based in Penrose, this is a 6 month contract role that could lead to a permanent opportunity.

 About the Role

You’ll lead and support implementation across multiple districts, each at different stages of readiness and delivery. Working closely with leadership teams, clinical experts, and stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels, you’ll help drive alignment, solve challenges, and ensure successful delivery.

This is a dynamic role where your approach will flexible —ranging from light-touch guidance to hands-on delivery support—depending on the needs of each district.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver project activities across multiple districts, aligned to programme objectives and timelines
  • Tailor your level of support based on district capability, readiness, and risk
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans, milestones, and deliverables
  • Monitor progress and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Support and track benefits realisation to ensure meaningful outcomes are achieved
  • Provide clear, timely reporting to programme leadership and governance groups
  • Build strong, effective relationships with leadership teams, clinical leads, and stakeholders across the system

 About You

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (postgraduate qualification in project management highly regarded)
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in project management, ideally within the health sector
  • Proven success delivering complex, multi-stream projects—on time and within budget
  • Experience working across public sector environments (health sector experience essential)
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Ability to use data and insights to drive performance and service improvement
  • Confidence communicating complex ideas to a wide range of audiences, including senior and clinical stakeholders
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop practical solutions
  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively within high-performing teams

If you’re ready to make an impact and bring your project expertise to a purpose-driven initiative, we’d love to hear from you
