Are you a seasoned Practice or Operations Manager looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a professional services firm? We're seeking a capable and collaborative leader for a fixed-term contract through to December 2026 working for an Accounting Firm in Auckland CBD.

In this role, you'll work alongside the Partners to oversee the smooth running of the practice, ensuring operational excellence across the business while supporting their people and clients. This is a varied leadership position where you'll balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement, helping to drive efficiency, strengthen processes, and foster a positive, high-performing workplace.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you'll take ownership of the firm's operational functions, ensuring the business continues to operate effectively while meeting professional standards and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will span

  • Demonstrated experience in practice management, operations management, office management, or leading business support functions within a professional services environment.
  • Proven success leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business.
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with sound commercial judgement.
  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and software.
