Are you an experienced policy professional passionate about shaping healthcare outcomes across New Zealand? We are looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to lead the development and harmonization of national clinical policies.

Reporting directly to the National Clinical Governance Manager, you will play a pivotal role working alongside clinical governance committees, clinical networks, and Clinical Chiefs to establish robust, effective clinical policies that drive excellence in care.

This is a 3 month contract inititially, with potential to extend and can be based remotely in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Working Group Leadership: Establish and manage a working group of subject matter experts to guide, advise, and drive policy development and implementation.
• Policy Review & Frameworks: Review existing national policies to identify key components required for clear, effective national policy design.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Policy Harmonisation team and key internal/external stakeholders across the wider Agency.
• Delivery & Execution: Prioritize workload and deliver high-quality, accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Communication Strategy: Ensure effective dissemination, communication, and training frameworks are considered for seamless policy launches.

What You Bring

• Clinical Policy Expertise: Proven track record of developing, reviewing, and implementing clinical policies within healthcare environments.
• Cultural Competency: Strong working knowledge of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, Te Reo Māori, and a comprehensive understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
• Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written skills with experience drafting high-level leadership papers, memos, project documentation, and reports.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong conceptual problem-solver with sound judgment, innovation, and keen attention to detail.
• Relationship Management: Skilled at managing expert working groups and building collaborative relationships across complex organizations.
• Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience.
