Senior Business Analyst (Contract)

Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a key role across two impactful streams of work - delivering digital tools that help New Zealand businesses thrive, and supporting the development of Treaty-related capability and reporting.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned analyst who enjoys working across both delivery and strategy, blending hands-on engagement with forward-looking analysis.

What You’ll Do Small Business Web Tools Delivery (Approx. 50%)

• Contribute to the rebuild of a suite of web-based tools that support small business success.

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.

• Stay adaptable and responsive to emerging needs in a dynamic, agile environment.

You’ll bring:

• Excellent communication skills - clear, concise, and engaging.

• Proven ability to connect business goals with technical delivery in a pragmatic way.

• Strong BA fundamentals: requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and traceability.

• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong self-management.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality across all deliverables.

Treaty Commitments Reporting (Approx. 50%)

• Support analysis and validation of existing recommendations relating to Treaty Accord management.

• Help shape a more mature and fit-for-purpose approach to managing obligations and reporting.

You’ll bring:

• Experience or familiarity with Treaty and Accord frameworks.

• Ability to analyse, theme, and present complex information clearly.

• Confidence to provide actionable insights that enhance organisational capability and maturity.

You’re an adaptable and experienced Senior Business Analyst who can move seamlessly between strategic and delivery-focused work. You build strong relationships, ask the right questions, and know how to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
