Technical Lead – Digital Campaigns (Contract)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to support the delivery of large-scale digital campaign initiatives for a major public sector organisation.

This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone with strong technical leadership capability and experience working across digital communications, data-driven campaigns, and enterprise systems integration. You will work closely with external delivery partners, internal technology teams, and project stakeholders to deliver critical campaign functionality through to execution.

The project is currently in the implementation phase, with key build activities and campaign delivery running throughout 2026.

About the Role

As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the technical delivery of digital campaign components and supporting operational execution across multiple campaign streams.

You will:

• Lead detailed technical design and implementation activities
• Work closely with external vendors and internal IT teams
• Support delivery of digital communication and campaign processes
• Contribute to solution design with a focus on security and privacy considerations
• Coordinate technical activities across applications, infrastructure, and delivery teams
• Provide practical, delivery-focused technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle

This is not a strategic consulting role, we are looking for someone comfortable working at the detailed delivery and implementation level.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead in digital campaign, communications, or data-driven environments
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications and systems integration
• Experience supporting digital engagement or communication platforms
• Product ownership, business analysis, or process improvement capability
• Solution design or architecture experience
• Understanding of privacy, security, and governance considerations
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced delivery environments

Contract Details

• Immediate start preferred
• Contract through to December 2026
• Long-term programme delivery environment
• Wellington-based preferred, with flexibility considered for the right candidate
