Analyst – Performance & Reporting

We are seeking an experienced analyst to join a high-performing enterprise data and information team within a large public sector environment.

This Wellington-based role will focus on delivering high-quality performance analysis, reporting, and insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with business stakeholders and leadership teams to ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting is available to support operational and organisational outcomes.

About the Role

As the Performance & Reporting Analyst, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining reporting processes, performance frameworks, and analytical outputs across a complex enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining performance reporting processes and systems
  • Extracting, validating, and analysing data from multiple sources
  • Producing high-quality reporting and analytical insights for internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting data integrity, governance, and organisational reporting standards
  • Working closely with managers and business units to understand reporting needs and business drivers
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across reporting and analytics functions
  • Supporting collaborative and agile ways of working across enterprise teams

About You

You are a strong analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for a wide range of audiences.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience in performance analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles
  • Strong SQL and Excel capability
  • Experience using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and data modelling concepts
  • Familiarity with Python or R for analytics and reporting
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach

The following would be advantageous:

  • Experience in enterprise or public sector environments
  • Relevant analytics or BI certifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline

Requirements

  • Security clearance to a Top-Secret level is required for this position.
  • New Zealand citizenship or residency requirements may apply.
