We are looking for a Payroll and Accounts Administrator to provide cover in our client’s finance team while they work through the implementation of a new payroll system. The role is responsible for end-end payroll processing, maintaining accurate people and pay records and ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier and contractor invoices and payments.
Reporting to the financial controller key responsibilities include:
Payroll
- Maintaining payroll systems to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time.
- Preparing IRD, ACC and similar returns as and when required
- Maintaining employee leave records, pay related data and records.
- Keeping abreast of changes in New Zealand payroll laws and regulations.
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll and leave matters in a timely and professional manner
Accounts Payable
- Maintaining supplier and contractors’ records including contact information and payment terms.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues with invoices and payments.
- Collaboration with procurement and other departments to ensure accurate and timely vendor setup.
- Working closely with internal departments to verify and reconcile expenses and process for payment
What you will bring to the team:
- Previous experience in payroll administration
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and regulations
- Understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations
Ideally we are looking for someone who can work full time hours, however 32 hours could be considered for the right candidate.
