3 Month Contract

Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm

Our client, an orthodontist surgery, is looking for a dental assistant to join their team in the heart of Hamilton.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating the patient admission process prior to surgery
• Setting up necessary surgical and related equipment prior to the commencement of surgery
• Assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure in either the role of surgical assistant (scrub nurse), circulating nurse or as retractor
• Preparing used equipment for cleaning, re-sterilizing and reprocessing for future surgical use

We are looking for a friendly individual with previous experience in a similar role. You will be warm and welcoming and have the ability to build rapport with patients from all walks of life.

This role will include some administrative/reception tasks also, such as:

• Fielding any nursing related patient calls or queries
• Re-stocking equipment
• Re-ordering any necessary stores or make known any requirements to those responsible for the re-ordering of equipment and supplies
• Ensuring all theatre uniforms and drying equipment are laundered and dried for future use
• The removal and appropriate disposal of any rubbish and medical waste

A Certificate in Dental Assisting would be ideal, however is not essential.
