This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ISO & QMS Consultant who can hit the ground running, take ownership of key quality management activities and ensure the business maintains its ISO 9001 certification.

Working closely with the Quality Management Lead and key stakeholders across the business, you will play an important role in maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring audit readiness and driving practical improvements across operational processes.

The Role

This is a hands-on contract role focused on maintaining and improving the existing Quality Management System, managing certification-critical activities and ensuring quality documentation, records and corrective actions are up to date.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinating internal and external audits, including preparation, gathering evidence and following up on findings.
  • Reviewing and maintaining controlled documentation, procedures, records and version control.
  • Managing non-conformities, corrective actions and improvement registers through to effective closure.
  • Facilitating root cause analysis and working with process owners to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Preparing quality metrics, reporting and inputs for management reviews.
  • Identifying compliance gaps, monitoring outstanding actions and escalating risks where required.
  • Providing practical guidance to operational teams on quality processes and ISO requirements.
  • Ensuring certification milestones remain on track and providing a clear handover of outstanding actions and priorities at the end of the contract.

About You

You will be an experienced quality professional with a strong practical understanding of ISO 9001 and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be comfortable stepping into an established environment, quickly identifying priorities and ensuring important compliance activities are completed.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Proven experience maintaining and improving an ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System.
  • Experience supporting certification, surveillance or recertification audits.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit processes, document control, non-conformance management, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Experience preparing management review information and quality performance reports.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to follow-through.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with management, operational teams and external auditors.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environments would be advantageous. Internal auditor or lead auditor training, along with a relevant quality or technical qualification, would also be beneficial.
