15-20 hours per week with flexibility

From humble beginnings back in the 1950’s, Brian Perry Ltd became a thriving one-man business, cutting new ground with his Quick Way excavator.  Today, Perry Group Ltd is involved in the manufacturing, importing, distribution and property sectors with a number of commercial entities across New Zealand.  Alongside these commercial entities, The Brian Perry Charitable Trust actively contributes to a vibrant Waikato region, having developed partnerships with a number of outstanding local organisations, supporting a wide range of community driven projects.

This newly created part time position has responsibilities across Perry Group Ltd and the Brian Perry Charitable Trust.   Using Xero, you will manage the accounts payable and receivable functions for multiple entities, processing all invoices and completing bank reconciliations.  In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing development and automation of accounting systems and processes, assist with the transition from the current accounting software to Xero for some entities, and take on project work as the opportunities arise.

Key to your success will be:

  • Well developed AR & AP skills to month end stage
  • Previous experience working with a large number of entities
  • Strong intuition and self-motivation
  • Impressive communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple balls at once, while meeting monthly deadlines
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Proactiveness and a continuous improvement focus
  • Xero knowledge (preferably)
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • A positive and fun approach to your work!

There is flexibility with how the 15-20 hours are worked, and once trained, there is the option to do some hours from home.  The culture in this organisation is strong and models strong family and community values, making it a sought-after place to work.  An attractive hourly rate will be offered to the successful applicant.  Apply now or contact Judy on 027 4714024 for a confidential chat.
