Reporting to the Clinical Manager, this position forms part of the Aged Care Clinical Team, and will ensure delivery of quality, efficient and effective lifestyle services. Your responsibilities will be challenging and varied, and will include:
- Promoting an environment that supports residents’ choices, independence, dignity, and quality of life
- Developing and implementing a fun and stimulating leisure programme
- Supporting and encouraging resident participation in daily activities
- Consulting with the Occupational Therapist and Registered Nurses regarding specific needs
- Communicating with families about events and activities
- Taking residents on outings around Waikato
We are seeking a person with energy, creativity and drive. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the residents, and their families. Ideally you will offer:
- A wide range of practical and creative skills
- The ability to excel in a resident centric environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with residents with memory loss
- Confidence with the use of technology
- A Diversional Therapy qualification
- A current driver’s licence with a P class rating
This 77.5 hours per fortnight position will predominantly see you working Monday to Friday, however you will at times be required to work in the evenings or weekends to ensure the families are involved in some activities and entertainment.
