Ongoing temp position with possible long term prospects

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s Waikato based team and take the lead in establishing robust equipment hierarchies and maintenance frameworks from the ground up. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building the foundation for equipment reliability, ensuring that assets are set up for long-term performance, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement early-stage equipment hierarchies for new and existing assets
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to gather and organise equipment data
  • Create systems and standards that support effective maintenance planning and reliability improvement
  • Identify opportunities to optimise equipment performance and prevent downtime
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within asset management and reliability engineering

About You
You’re someone who enjoys structure and planning, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for improving how things work. You think ahead, communicate well with both technical and non-technical teams, and take pride in setting up systems that make operations run smoothly.  The person we are seeking will demonstrate:

  • 5+ years mechanical or electrical engineering experience
  • A strong understanding of maintenance planning, and asset/equipment management
  • An analytical and organised approach, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working with data, documentation, and technical systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g. CMMS)

This is a great opportunity to be involved early in projects that shape how our client’s equipment and assets are managed for years to come. You’ll join a team that values reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement, and you’ll play a hands-on role in setting the standard for operational excellence.
