Looking for a role where you can take real ownership of quality in a manufacturing environment? This is a hands-on opportunity for a Quality Engineer to lead laboratory operations, drive compliance, and influence product quality from raw materials through to finished goods.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring products meet strict regulatory and quality standards, while building and maintaining robust quality systems across both factory and warehouse operations.
About the Role
This is a broad and autonomous role where you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of laboratory operations and overall quality assurance across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing laboratory testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
- Approving product release and verifying batch records, including Certificates of Analysis
- Leading investigations into quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances (using tools such as 8D and CAPA)
- Maintaining and improving quality systems (ISO, GMP, Organics) across factory and warehouse
- Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitoring production processes and providing technical guidance to manufacturing teams
- Managing supplier quality, including audits, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
- Delivering quality training and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
About You
You’re a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. You bring a strong sense of ownership and are confident making decisions that protect product integrity.
You will ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology or a related field
- Experience working in a QA/QC laboratory environment under GMP or similar regulatory frameworks
- Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO, GMP) and audit processes
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, titration methods)
- Proven ability to lead investigations and implement corrective/preventative actions
- Supplier quality or supply chain experience (highly regarded)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across teams
Experience in dairy, animal health, or regulated manufacturing environments will be an advantage.
