At INEX, they’re proud of the work they do - and just as proud of how they do it.
Our client, INEX, is New Zealand's leading aluminium extruder, proudly based in Te Rapa, Hamilton. For more than 25 years, they've been supplying high-quality aluminium products used in buildings, infrastructure, transport and everyday products across New Zealand and Australia.
INEX has built its reputation not only on the quality of its products, but on the people behind them. The business takes pride in doing the basics well, supporting one another and fostering a culture built on teamwork, respect and accountability. Employees are encouraged to contribute, continue learning and take pride in the role they play in the company's success.
The Opportunity
Are you the person who sees what needs doing and makes it happen?
At INEX, we are looking for someone who loves being at the heart of a business. This is not a role where every day follows the same routine. One day you might be helping organise a training workshop, and the next you could be improving an office process, coordinating travel, preparing a report, following up on compliance activities, supporting a business project or helping bring a staff event to life.
You will work across Business Services, including HR, IT and Finance, while also supporting our senior leadership and management teams. You will be someone people can rely on to organise, follow up, improve and bring things together.
What you'll be doing
As our Business Services Support, you will help keep the important things moving across INEX and our wider group of businesses.
You will:
- Support our senior leadership and management teams, as well as our wider Business Services functions
- Coordinate meetings, reports, presentations, travel and events
- Help organise workshops, functions, staff activities and business events
- Keep track of actions, deadlines and follow-up
- Prepare clear, accurate and professional business documents
- Support projects, systems and process improvements
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and service providers
- Help maintain good office systems, records and workplace supplies
- Support our privacy processes and help ensure we meet our responsibilities under the Privacy Act
- Step into the many other things that come up when you are part of a busy, practical business
The work is varied, and priorities can change quickly. You will need to be comfortable balancing planned work with the unexpected things that need attention.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings more than strong administration skills.
You will be someone who:
- Sees what needs doing and takes the initiative to get it sorted
- Brings ideas and looks for better, simpler ways of working
- Is positive, approachable and comfortable having a laugh
- Builds relationships easily and can relate to people from all walks of life
- Knows when to have fun and when something needs care, discretion and absolute follow-through
- Takes pride in helping others succeed
- Strengthens the team and culture around them
- Is organised, dependable and good at following things through
- Can manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with good judgement
- Is confident using Microsoft 365 and willing to learn new technology
- Is happy to pitch in and help, even when something does not sit neatly within a job description
You will have solid experience in administration, business support or office coordination. Just as importantly, you will have the confidence and maturity to work with senior leaders, the judgement to handle sensitive information and the ability to remain connected and approachable across the wider business.
